Mr. West speaks of us wayward anarchists as if we're conquering or occupying Romans who determine value or worth with the flick of a thumb . . . . except ours will always come down in rapacious negativism no matter any success crossing the Tiber. vercingetorix_caesaropt_pd.gif

What tripe indeed. I'll be the first to take my hat as a meal should the former Congressman take the ring. It would not change my perspective on the world nor the conclusions that I reach on any given day. But I have not denounced Barr or spoken ill of my former colleague on the LNC. I'd be honored to dine at the White House if the invitation was offered. But let's be real, please !

It would be of some satisfaction knowing that my own efforts to help with the ballot effort bore fruit where none was expected. To wit, it is important to emphasize that party loyalty can trump earned or perceived ideological mantles. It is indeed sad that TW stakes his thoughts in such rut inducing tracks as to constantly denigrate these leprechauns of anarchy that haunt his every step.

Liberty's stake in this awful game will be next to impossible, always, no matter how you cut it. No hope, grand illusion or emotional earnestness will change the ballot access rules, bring in tons of cash, garnish media attention (let alone focus) or even light a small grassroots fire. The RP folks are petering out as our own platform is now incapable of rousing their style of passion about critical issues (can you say Federal Reserve ?). Nor is it of any concern to the average voter. There's always some bastard who has more bastards than the other bastard who will determine the course of human events. Cat's out of the bag on that one. Sorry.

Let all the reformers have the party in my estimation. Re-brand and re-stratify you positions, candidates, fundraising, whatever. All the cool kids are leaving anyway. Have at it. But those of us who stay and fight are not to be blamed because it didn't work. We have started at that premise from day one. If it seems unworthy or without goal or purpose, fine. So be it. Third parties drive issues, they don't win and shape policy, history or common culture. Go look, all the info is out there.

Know this Tim West, I'm as radical a SOB as there ever will be in the LP. As I am not usually willing to post at TPW, given it's current vapid content in comments as well as potentially plagarized posts, know that there are many of us damned anarchists busting our humps and shagging sigs while all the mealy mouthed shybots blather and blather. We've made friends on many levels and we strive to do the best we can, considering the circumstances. Am I an anarchist ? Yes. Do I understand the real world for what it is ? Yes. Will I work with others who differ in our ultimate conclusions but feel compelled to work on behalf of some kind of better Liberty in a real electoral arena ? You bet, sure. Know thyself, as that famous philosopher favoring statist Socrates who started it all said to his ultimate regret and notoriety. Know thyself.
