Ask the Professor . . . JustinTV

Sometime during the ennui of browsing Ron Paul news and blog posts I came across JustinTV during the outset of Saturday night. Having turned down an impromptu invite to Elvis Costello and Bob Dylan at Albany's Palace Theater earlier in the night, I'm happy to be home with the wife and kids. As part of the cusp of Gen X that turns forty soon, it's kind of disheartening to see a generation approximately ten to fifteen years younger hang out on their computers as the world watches them. A combination of girls on their cell phones and geeks in their geekpads. I did eventually stop on some 'gray hair' who seemed a little different from the twenty something girls showing off their legs. JenniCam has come a long way. My take on it after the jump.

Apparently I happened to stumble across the inaugural broadcast of Ask the Professor. This self-styled boomer, ex-NASA scientist and fellow Universal Life Minister in Arkansas on the verge of retirement/obscurity has decided to take his rambling ADD like take on the universe and life and share it with the JustinTV crowd. I actually think Bob Nagy would be an interesting guy to hang out with. His combination of anarchism and atheism creates an immediate interest for me. He does seem to fall into a classic boomer hubris and tends to stratify the political universe into liberals and Neocons. It is hard to interact with someone talking on a live feed to a half dozen chatter/typers. I was able to start a Gen X / Boomer tiff that he was able to completely dominate because of his control of the virtual microphone. I think I softened him up a bit with my first question; Was Kierkegaard a Virgin ? I did have fun and look forward to his next 'broadcast'.
